GREEN BUILDING What is Green Building? Green homes incorporate environmental and resource efficiencies into the planning and building process in order to minimize the impact on the unique Alaska eco-system. As Alaskans we are all conscious of our surrounding habitat and are willing to do what it takes to preserve our natural beauty and resources. As advocates of Green Building and certified NAHB Green Building Professionals, we are happy to advise and guide you through the design and construction phases of your building project. This may include: 1) heating systems, 2) water heating systems, 3) windows, and 4) appliances. All of these items will have greater efficiency if they possess an ENERGY STAR rating label. Regardless of how many energy efficient features you include in your building plan, we are here to guide you in your selection of what best fits your needs and your pocketbook. For more information about what goes into a green home visit the National Association of Home Builders. Carol Perkins, owner of Active Inspections and Energy Ratings, LLC is a certified NAHB Green Building Professional. |
